Linux Servers and Workstations
The department is equipped with 2 Linux servers / workstations.

- fisher - This is a Dell R640 server equipped with dual Xeon Gold 6246R 16-Cores 3.4GHz CPUs, 512GB RAM running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
- 1 Linux workstation
- fermat - This is a HP Z620 workstation equipped with dual Xeon E5-2690 v2 10-Cores 3.0GHz CPUs, 128GB RAM running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
Other Computer Peripherals
- 1 HP P3015 printer and 1 Brother HL-4150CDN color printer at FSC1203
- digital camera
All items above are available for our department's staff. Undergraduate students should get approval from their superviors prior to use the above items.
Computer Resources - Software
- Matlab – for students, faculty members and researchers
MATLAB is a powerful tool to analyse data, create mathematical models and run simulations. Simulink offers insights through model building and simulation. Both MATLAB and Simulink are now available to all students, faculty members and researchers.

- Microsoft Office/Windows
Under the Microsoft Campus Agreement, all staff can use Microsoft Office and upgrade Microsoft Windows on University owned computers.
In addition, both staff and students are eligible to install Microsoft Office Pro Plus 365 for home use.
- SPSS - Modules covered include : SPSS Base, Regression, Advanced Statistics, Custom Tables, Data Preparation, Missing Values, Forecasting, Decision Trees, Direct Marketing, Complex Samples, Conjoint, Neural Networks, Bootstrapping, Categories, Exact Tests, Visualization Designer, Sample Power and AMOS.
SPSS licenses are available through an annual subscription, with the license period running from July 1 through June 30. The license is non transferable and the annual fee should be paid per installation. All SPSS licenses are subject to annual renewal with expiration date on June 30 of each year.

- PDF-XChange - Staff are eligible to use PDF-XChange at no cost. Please note that the software can only be installed on University owned computers and is not available for home use.

- SAS - The SAS Education Analytical Suite (EAS) is available for installation on University owned computers only. Features offered include statistical analysis, operations research, forecasting, econometrics, optimization, decision support, report writing and graphics are bundled in one package.

There are other software (like MathType, ESET) available from ITO -> Software Licensing page.
Department also use some freeware like R, python, GPSS Student version etc.
